Abstract
This chapter outlines the character of interpretive policy analysis (IPA) and then looks at the history and present state of its practice in the Netherlands. In an approach commonly found in science studies, that history is traced through key actors and their publications, institutional locations, and academic events. The chapter also engages five specific areas of the approach's development and application in the Netherlands: discourse, framing, category, and narrative analyses, and practice studies.
